An existing product development client needed added capacity in their hydrographics printing (water transfer printing) department. In this process a pre-printed film is floated on the top of a large tank of water, when the customer's parts are dipped into the tank, the image is transferred to the part. The motion of dipping the part into the tank is critical to a successful coating.
The company that manufactured the existing tank was no longer in business and the client needed a fast solution. Frisella Design engineered, manufactured and programmed a servomotor dipping system which includes an operator interface that allows the customer to vary the dipping motion as required for various parts. This system has been operating at the client's facility for a few years and made thousands of parts.
