Compact robotic arm for removing waste plastic flash after molding large water bottles

In this example, Frisella has created a custom and very compact Fanuc robotic arm device that takes newly molded large water bottles of various shapes, and inserts them into a stripping device that automatically shears off the plastic waste flash (waste material) left over from the molding process.

The unique design of this compact machine allows it to have a footprint one third the size of the machine it replaces. Factory floor space is always at a premium, so a device that saves 60% of the space (and accomplishes its task with sturdy, high production volume) is a major accomplishment. Imagine a machine taking up the size of a small bathroom replacing one the size of a normal living room.
