In-line machine for accurately bending stainless steel

Stainless steel is a difficult metal to bend cleanly and accurately. Frisella Design developed an automated solution using both hydraulic and pneumatic systems for a client who needed to bend a custom part that was also capable of being added to their existing production line of fabrication machines. The new machine creates 180° bends simultaneously on both ends of a cut stainless steel sheet with high tolerances in only a few seconds per part.

The machine integrates the functions of two machines into one unit (hydraulic and pneumatic systems), and is an industry first design for its comparatively small footprint.  It takes up roughly half the space of machines with comparable functionality, saving manufacturing space, while greatly reducing part fabrication times.
