Frisella Design successfully re-engineers a game product after an overseas company fails

This project originated in a field outside of Worcester, Massacheusetts in the 90's.  A group of  teens created an after-school game they could play together that consisted of a loop and a stick.  The idea: Spin the loop at the end of the stick, throw the spinning loop to another player who catches the loop then continues the spin and throws it to another.

A senior executive of a very well-known toy manufacturer drove by one day, noticed the game they were playing and stopped to talk to the boys. He confessed to them "We just missed out on Cabbage Patch Dolls — and I don't want to miss out again on another great idea."  A deal to manufacture the product was negotiated with an overseas manufacturing company (which unfortunately failed due to poor quality design and engineering).  The new owners of the game contacted Frisella Design for rethinking and redesign. The loop needed improved durability and a design that could be manufactured easily in high volume — as well as an image uplift.

Employing our extensive experience with plastic and foam manufacturing, a new design was created using two-shot over-molding and polyurethane foam.  The product is now in the process of being prototyped while funding is being secured for tooling and manufacture.
